Hello. Welcome to my OC and world-building directory page. This site is a wiki for my story called Daughters of Ithacus, a world that has been living in my mind for while. Now I have now decided to put it on paper--er, screen.
Most of these pages are still unfinished, and will remain under a permanent state of "work-in-progress". I will add more content along the way as I see fit. As well, the "canon" of Daughters of Ithacus may change as I flesh out the characters, plot, and world-building.
Trigger warnings will be clearly indicated when necessary. Please see the menu on the left to navigate this website.
Daughters of Ithacus is a sci-fi fantasy hero's journey that involves elements of classical mythology, space opera, and political drama. While crafting this story and the world around it, I intended to explore themes of colonialism, imperialism, oppression, love, and friendship. It forced me to reckon with difficult questions about morality vs. monstrosity, the price of progress, the role of identities--namely manhood and disability--in our society, and the role of science and technology in furthering imperialist goals.
This story draws its inspiration heavily from the classic Greek epic: The Odyssey. I created Daughters of Ithacus to be a sort of love-letter to Homer's legendary work; except with Odysseus being replaced by two likely autistic and queer STEM majors (which I'm not sure he'd appreciate or understand if he were alive). As well, it was influenced by the stories, themes, and characters of Dune, Arcane, Honkai: Star Rail, Star Wars, The Last of Us, and various other media that have had a profound effect on me.
Through combining hard science fiction elements like space travel and energy technology with classic fantasy characteristics like gods and mystical powers, I've tried to create a unique universe where the boundaries between science and mythology, and tradition and progress blend.
[27/1/2025] Website is mostly set up now. Pages are still WIP.
