MY SILLY WRIORANGO AU

Imagine this:

Let's say hypothetically, Wriothesley, and the rest of the relevant Fontaine cast, were transported to our era: the Modern Era--if you will. Okay, let's even say they live in my country, Canada and more specifically; British Columbia. Right so, in this scenario, I am an adult of legal consenting age in our year of 2024, and I am kissing Wriothesley on the lips. Now let's take it further and say that our daily struggles include standing in line at ICBC, surviving the rain, watching grocery prices soar, preserving our marriage, and trying to find a GP for our four-year-old daughter. Also, Wriothesley is a champion HW boxer because I don't have any other jobs that fit him, and I don't like cops (what Wrio is often HC'd as).

That's basically the basis of this whole AU: a slice-of-life, modern AU with myself and Wriothesley being your odd married couple living that Vancouver life. It's one that I created to daydream about and to fill the hole that is my crushing loneliness and lack of meaningful connection with other people.

The Basics of Wrio & Rango:

Your very normal, average married couple; no relationship troubles whatsoever, no siree

Live in Vancouver, around the Fairview area that's kind of close to Downtown without all the chaos that is Downtown

Have a four-year-old daughter named Ollie

Rango is a certified gamer and is not employed

Wriothesley is loaded and can afford them a luxurious life, but is almost obsessed with saving money whenever possible (result of trauma from poverty and homelessness)

Rango is like the kid who never grew up, while Wriothesley was forced to grow up from a young age

The Story of Wrio & Rango:

Met in university under some less than optimal circumstances

Wriothesley was struggling financially at the time, and would leap for any free food he could find on campus

Rango and him both spotted an abandoned, ziplock bag sandwich at the library and fought over it like NYC subway rats

(Of course) Rango won, took a bite, and his face drained of color when he realised it had peanut butter in it

Cue allergic reaction and Wriothesley panicking

Wriothesley turbo rockets to the medical centre with Rango on his back

Rango survives, gives Wriothesley his number out of a feeling of obligation, and the two become friends

Their friendship kicks off: the both of them participating in the Formula 1 design team and Rango letting him stay in his dorm like a couple of good friends, just some real bros

Rango also had to bail Wriothesley out of jail with Neuvillette

They remain good friends even as Rango moves to Hamilton, Ontario for his M.ASc

Wriothesley begins rising to fame in his boxing career, establishes himself as an Olympic Gold Medalist, and has made a decent life for himself

Meanwhile Clorinde (FWB) finds a girlfriend, Neuvillette (crush) is occupied being a provincial court judge so he's lonely :(

In a midnight quarter-life crisis, listening to Marianas Trench (it was 2013), he realises his feelings for Rango and calls him on a whim

Rango and Wriothesley start dating, and the former returns to Vancouver to work and live with Wriothesley

One Direction break up sometime around here, also the most impactful movie of human history is released: The Lego Movie (2014)

Time skip and they marry in 2020 during the pandemic, then Ollie is born in 2021

Rango quits his job
